Wanted to start our update this week by thanking those are working at this time. They are all working hard in a situation we have never dealt with before. Thank you. We really appreciate it.
One of the benefits that result when something like this happens is we are forced into doing things differently. We are finding new processes and ways to get orders through our system more efficiently than before.
When this whole thing started, I talked about having one goal: survival. While we feel very fortunate to be in the position we are in, there is still no guarantee of survival. There are a lot of companies closing their doors. We have avoided that fate to this point.
Without question, our business is changing and while change brings uncertainty, it is not something we can stop, we can only work to manage it.
Through the first five months of the year, sales are down 33% when compared to the first five months of 2019. That is not the kind of hit we can sustain without some significant changes.
We hope you all have a nice Memorial Weekend even though it looks like the weather will be less than perfect.
