FlexFit Stretch Fit Hat Sizing
You can't get the wrong size with a snap or velcro backed hat, but with a fitted hat, you might want a little insight. The easiest way to figure out which hat to get is to, of course, measure your head, where the hat will sit. But when you’re ordering for a team, that gets more than a little complicated. Most people’s head size is between 21 and 25.5 inches. The FlexFit 360-degree stretch hats come in S/M or M/L. Most people will probably fit into a M/L. But having a few S/M on hand is good, because nobody wants a loose hat, and these are designed to stretch.
How Do You Know What Size Flexfit Hat You Need?
The typical Flexfit cap has an elastic sweatband and crown that stretches to fit a head securely and comfortably. Most Flexfit hats come in one of three sizes – small/medium, large/extra-large, and one-size-fits-all. Small/medium hats can fit heads with a 21 to 23-inch diameter. Larger heads will require a large/extra-large hat, while a one-size-fits-all Flexfit cap can expand to fit most heads without issues.
You can play it safe and avoid ending up with an uncomfortably large or small hat by opting for a Flexfit hat with a Velcro or snap closure. You can tighten or expand the closure on such hats to fit your head and achieve the most comfortable fit.
How Tight Should a Flexfit Hat Be?
A Flexfit hat should be tight enough to fit firmly on your head and not fall off or shift when you get hit by a gust of wind. However, the hat shouldn’t be so tight that it bruises your forehead or leaves an ugly indentation around your head when you take it off.
